really started taking the demo seriously ( out of boredom)..it's like a revelation for doing groovy one man band audio mangling experiments! Really fresh and original

i am pretty much sold on Live for the way i want to approach some new songwriting... it's not great for crazy poly rhythm infused metal but for ambient groove stuff...whoa!

and it rewires perfect with my host...

I always looked at it like some wierd tool for Dj's only...once you start to mess with it its quite inspiring..you can basically play your recorded riffs loops and other clips like and instrument and record the performance and edit it later...plus everything syncs awesome and theres some really cool beat following effects...It is limiting in some ways as a liner production host but the cool workflow more than makes up for it..

I could see it getting alot of hate on a more "metal' forum but it's working great for me... Actually I bet alot of people here rewire it to PT or the 'base

I know Devin Townsend is a live user if that means anything...

if you had a cool metal song and wanted to do a remix I couldn't think of a better tool...

Live is a very beautiful program, it has a nice warp function, a GREAT midi shortcut mapping function (similar to Reason) and it rocks for making live sound using loops, but its transport and wave editor sucks to the point of making the program useless to tracking. The good thing is that it supports ReWire as a slave.

I use it for whatever it is that I do and the only thing I've seen that I'd consider a flaw/issue is that lack of Aux/busses. I love it. Cubase and Sonar were always too convoluted and too big of resource hogs. I'm sure it'll fall short of Pro Tools for serious studio work but for a homemade metal terrorist like me it's great.
