i still havent upgraded my computer yet,i got another os and i just need to get a new hardrive,i want at least a 120 gig hardrive but does it really matter if i get a 200 gig or are they more trouble than its worth

thanks.

Seagate, Maxtor, and Western Digital are all good brands. Unless you plan on having a ton of media, games, ect. on there all the time I would go with the 120. The bigger drives can slow things down a little and take longer to scan and defragment and stuff.

Good choice. I have an 80 and 40 in my system. Plus, I'm getting an external to hold all my MP3's (I'm converting all my albums).

Western Digital has gone down in quality lately. They used to be awesome, but now they are trash.

Seagate

I work for a company that makes parts for hard drives and Seagate is probably what I would say is the best (hard to believe this after saying for years how I thought they were the worst). Maxtor is also a good drive.

I think you can get a Maxtor like 250gb (or some such massive amount) for a much lower price than the Seagate 10,000 RPM ones, and it goes almost as fast as them...dunno the exact price though.
