I was never really into it, but then my sister just watched it constantly, and its actually pretty clever sometimes. And Joss Whedon (creator of Firefly, which yes is better) produced it so, cant be all that bad. Granted, Sarah whatsherface is kinda annoying.Dead_Lioness said:

The Buffy TV show not bad, better than the movie for sure.
I liked all of the pop culture references and the little sister on the show is cute.
Sarah Michelle Gagherwithaspoon got far to into her own hype.
She wanted to stick mainly with her movie " career " which consisted of Scooby Doo movies.

I use to watch it once in awile if just flipping through the channels because Emma Caulfield. Now I watch charmed with alyssa milano & rose mcgowen because both are incredibly hot. The show is still ridiculous.
... Also people with tiny or typical noses are boring to look at majority of the time because the person looks typical/stereoptypical(mongoloish traits are not interesting imo). Look at asians for an example that all look exactly the same(boring faces). I see nothing wrong with Sarah Michelle Gellars nose. I've heard people complain about Naomi Watts & Christina Scabbia's noses which bugged me. I wonder about people sometimes.

I have all the seasons on DVD and quite enjoy them. The show didn't really come together until the second season, and it probably ran a season too long, but it was pretty darn entertaining in the middle there. The Angel spinoff was great as well, though I often find that people love one and hate the other.

i like the usage of hot nubile teen almost-stars to lure people back into practicing witchcraft and fearing vampires, but ... the shows just suck.

Ah, but he only wrote it, and it was out of his hands after that. And he knows it sucks. In regards to directing Serenity he said he had to direct because "The next time someone ruins one of my scripts its going to be me." So it's really not his fault, and if anything, the few good moments are probably his fault (re: dialogue).
So if it wasn't obvious, yeah, I'm a fan of all three (Buffy, Angel, Firefly) BUT...yes that actress is annoying and bad (and even worse outside the show). Personally I think Angel was better than Buffy (no silly highschool crap), and Firefly I only hesitate to say is better because it's totally different. Apples and oranges...where apples are vampires and oranges are...things that fly around in space.
