Monophonic is fine. All of the ones I've tried are outdated. WIDI vst is great but the trial sucks and it's 60 bucks. Melodyne has an awesome midi output but it's not real time by any means

A little off topic, and I apologize in advance, but I've been wanting to try out one of the new Sonuus G2M guitar to MIDI interfaces - they retail for only $99 and sound like a nice little way to use your guitar in a very creative way to either capture/transcribe or to trigger soft-synths in a different manner.

OK - sorry, just thought perhaps it might be worth mentioning as an alternative - but it's not free I'm afraid, but when compared to the price of many MIDI guitar interfaces, it's a pretty good deal.

Please explain more, I am interested in this guitar midi stuff. What did you not like about the G2M? Did give lots of fals notes?
Well I'm looking for something I can actually play not just make sounds and doodle. The g2m was very cool just not for what I want

I agree completely about the GK3/GR20 combo - but there is a significant difference in price for admission ($99 vs. $729) - Roland is the best at MIDI guitar. The thing about the G2M is that it requires some work to get it working reliably and it is definitely not really suited to live performance from what I've read. I'd look into it for recording use only and I've read about some methods for getting better reliability on pitch and tracking (definitely not for shredding however

Pitch a Bitch VST is realtime guitar to MIDI converter from Bitscrew Team. It can also convert Bass guitar, voice and others. Has a lot of nice veatures, such as scale or midi-compression. But it is monophonic. Link is www.bitscrew.com
