I'm fortunate enough to know a fair few local bands, all of whom are excellent at what they do - here are a few of my faves.
Lucys Drowning - impassioned industrial metal crew with an eye for a good remix (their version of Limp Bizkit's 'Rollin'' has to be heard to be believed) and a highly political standpoint. http://www.lucysdrowning.com
Clay - teenaged metal wrecking crew mixing Pantera, Raging Speedhorn and Deftones in with some death metal influences to punishing effect. The fact that the bassist is one of my best friends has nothing to do with them being on here at all.

Payn - Pantera Mark II. But I'd rather have another Pantera clone than a legion of Morbid Angel wannabees, personally.
Cul - Melodic death metal with classical influences, from sunny Dudley. Intelligent song lyrics and complicated song structures rise these guys above the norm. http://www.weallbecleansed.com
There's many more, like the ones I mentioned in the 'Welcome' thread - Rise, Emotive Exposed, along with Undefined, Binge, Swaktang, Aleysium Shift, Disarm Goliath, and many more.
How about you guys - do you know anyone who could be the next big thing in UK Metal?
