hi guys, this is one of my fave productions - clean and tight sounding - wondering if anyone knows any info on how it was mixed ....

any info welcome - am still googling on it...

Not sure if it applies to "Far Beyond Driven," but IIRC Terry Date was known to mix on SSL consoles at Larrabee Studios during that time period.

Tracking-wise, he's been known to use Shure SM57s on snares/guitars, Neumann u87s as OH mics, Audio Technica ATM25 on kick...yeah, that's all I remember right now, ha ha. I'll post more if I think of anything else.

thanks for the heads up on Terry Date guys, man this guy can MIX!!!! I personally think the Guitar tone on "Far beyond driven" is my favourite Metal tone, and the drums sound immense!!

I remember reading somewhere that the guitars were tracked with 4 or 5 different amp setups and summed to mono tracks...and neve pres
And the bass was 3 tracks, one DI, one ampeg+crest poweramp and the other was sansamp.

The source could be guitar world possibly ( don't remember exact issues tho)
