i know this band wasn't a huge success but man they kick ass. anyone else like them? they've been a favorite of mine for about 10 years

They weren't big for good reason...
they weren't all that great. They did however get a couple
of good tracks on their debut...
I liked "Feel The Shake" great catchy chorus, good guitar riff...
I think the singer died due to a herion overdose?
They were a staple on Z-Rock back in the day...

i enjoy all of their releases, even the 4 releases of demo's and unreleased songs. the bass player todd crew, good friend of axl rose, died around 1988 from heroin but he had already been kicked out for drugs and replaced by hanoi rocks bass player sam yaffa. jetboy actually played some gig recently as the original line-up but with a different bass player. so basically the same line-up as every album but a new bass player. the singer looks weird now, they are all in great physical shape still but other than his face the singer had tattoos everywhere his skin was showing like his hands, neck, stomach, arms.

I definitely liked Jetboy in their day, and still enjoy the songs when they come around on my playlist (I use Auto DJ a LOT, and let MusicMatch pick from my 70 gbs of muisc). For me, Jetboy falls into a certain category of bands - not incredibly special or diifferent, and not amazing talents (not bad, per se, but nothing spectacular). However, if they have good writing skills, the songs are enjoyable and I like the band. They never blew me away, but I liked the first 2 albums.

I really like "A Day in the Glamorous Life". Its my favorite Jetboy CD.

I came across this CD a year or so ago just perusing my local cd shop. Liking alot of the glam/metal scene in the 80's I couldn't believe I'd never heard of these guys! Just one look at the cover and I new it was worth a shot to buy it! I was totally blown away... this is 80's glam sleaze at its very best!

It's also interesting to note that at the beginning of the Guns & Roses video "Live and Let Die" Axl dedicates the song to Todd... I wondered at the time who Todd was... the liner notes of this CD explains that it was Todd Crew of Jetboy! He had overdosed. GNR and Jetboy had been opening up for each other early on in each others home towns.

you should get some of the other cd's of demo's. the stuff they recorded after 1990 is heavy as hell. guitar player billy rowe said another cd of demo's as well as a rerecording of the first album feel the shake and a dvd of a 1986 show are all slated to be released next year. there is also talk of writing a new album
