Any love for this song?

I love pretty much everything Michael Jackson has ever made(Everything except Invincible.).
But yeah, this song is one of his better ones.

Cant say that i was overly enthusiastic by that rock cover though, it was oversimplified. ;X

:erk:

Looses all the production, mood and the most fucking epic solos played by Slash.

I fail to see the point of that "version" (the performance, not you posting it BTW).

The greatness in the original for me is the subtle layering which creates a massive pad throughout the song and allows the lead vocals and guitar to shine on it. I think this song is the fore- runner to my love for dark prog infused rock and metal.

Edit: don't mean to say the song is prog at all, but it is dark and builds and is heavy without being too complicated or in your face.

Was into mj and slash when I picked up the guitar so this song was def played alot back when it came out!

I wanted to post dream theater's "endless sacrifice" but I can't find it in youtube.

Cool song though (the original I mean). The verse isn't anything special but the chorus and solo are great.
