Your favorite "WOW" - Riffs

The section starting at 1:40 up till the heavy riff at 2:05. Killer.

And speaking of Neurosis...

That intro riff is crushing.

A WORLD DRENCHED IN THE BLOOD OF THE INNOCENT! The section starting at 2:47 through the end of the song is perhaps the best part on an already fucking fantastic album.

The section starting at 2:41 and continuing through with the riff at 2:52 never fails to give me chills. Epic.

Top it off with that tapping riff after that part in Kings of the Carnival Creation and the rest of that song could have sucked and I'd still love it.

Not got anywhere near the build up/resolution of tension that makes the Machine Head riff so tasty.
I'll admit the Catatonia riff doesn't have a specific build up.....

Calling them shit though :zombie:
I guess it's just a case of different strokes.....:goggly:

Prolly wont be very popular but it kicks ass. 0:16

I always forget about them for a while, then I hear one song and all of the sudden it's At The Gates week. Currently spinning the fuck out of Terminal Spirit Disease. Speaking of which....

Whole song, but the highlights are :21 and 1:30.

Emperor - "Empty" starting at the 1:26 mark. Shit gets brootal.

Nevermore - "Next in line" 00:35 second mark. But all the riffs on this album completely "wow" me to be honest.

Blotted Science - "Synaptic Plasticity" :20 second mark on. Ron Jarzombek is the shit.

Can't believe there's no In Flames yet.
Those two songs.
FUCK

In Flames - Clayman (1:45 riff)

In Flames - Episode 666 (1:39 riff - BLAST IT LOUD AS FUCK, so beautiful)

Make that three.

In Flames - Swim (0:12 riff)

Only In Flames is not enough.

SikTh - Skies of Millennium Night (beginning)

Protest The Hero - The Dissentience (the part starting at 2:27 and the solo following)

And I could go on and on, those three bands really have IT when it comes to songwriting.
