Borknagar - Ruins of the Future
Nope.
They write musical masterpieces.
Their 'riffs' are so fucking awesome and technical theyre just as hard as guitar solo's in other metal bands!!
I think, at the moment, there are millions i could list, but i'll just put a few, some of the coolest riffs can be found in:
Wintersun - Battle Against Time (The intro riff, so simple, but so awesome)
Imperanon - Corroded (The intro riff again, with all the rest of the instruments playing along.. sounds great)
Necrophagist - Only Ash Remains (throughout the song, but the final riff, from 'Romeo and Juliet' is SO great.)
..there are millions more, but just those for now.
Satyricon - Mother North
beginning riff to metallica "master of puppets" best thrash intro riff (possibly) ever
such a classic riff, induces some torrid headbanging + air guitaring.

What a beautiful song... one of my Satyricon favorites.
Black Sabbath - Symptom of the Universe
Many people believe that is the greatest riff in existence.
