edit: which dbx160 do you have? (x,xt,a,vu)

I had a vintage 160vu and I didn't like it. Sounds like a limiter super compressor even at the modest settings.

Guitars vocals and the lowend sounds awesome! Snare and the drums in general sounds to static and programmed in a bad way. Don't like the snare at all, sounds like stock avatar to me aka to little body.

It's the original 160VU. Badly in need of a service though. I'd actually retired it a few months ago to get a tech to look it over and help make it a bit more consistent.
