looking forward to hearing it dude!!! i hope you dont mind, but for when i head back to uni, ive done a mix of the tune youve already posted, can i use that and just say its an example of my mixing skills (obvs not the engineering side of things) solely just to show the style of my mixes to personal contacts?

Drums sound great. Maybe a little bit too much attack on the snare. Needs some more body. And the toms are too low in the mix.
Guitars sound very high passed. They need some low end and less fizz. Try cutting some 2.5k.
Everything else sounds pretty good.

Mel Gimpsuit is the name of the band incidentally. We've recorded them 3 times now and this is from the first session quite some time ago. As you can probably tell, they don't take themselves at all seriously. The original mixes can be found here:

In their latest session, they recorded a song entitled "If This Song Doesn't Get Us Into The Guinness Book Of World Records, We're Writing A Shorter One". It was about half a second long. They were trying to out-do Napalm Death's "You Suffer" I think.

Was there something wrong with the DI? I had to major surgery to make it usable, like there were a lot of clicks in the recording I had to draw out.
