im not sure how many of you are interested but everyone's always yelling for stuff to mix.....
I ran acorss NIN mysoace page and its seems that Trent it posting all of his songs in multitrack form for whoever to completely reconstruct/deconstruct the songs.....Trent has done this before i guess but this is the first time im reading about it......I just want to say what a great fucking idea...reznor is such a genius

anyways the new song is called survivalism is off there new record......reminds me of some old downward spiral

enjoy

The files are .aiff - just conver to wave and you'll be fine. BPM is about 130. I think it's very interesting that he plans to release the whole album this way over time. I think it will open up some cool interpretations and remixes. I for sure want to mess with some surround mixing with some of the stuff that will come later.

I think the best project he did like this was for the song Only. While an awful song, he released the original ProTools session that even had stuff not in the final version still loaded up.

Really cool to see and learn off of

Yes only was a terrible fucking song. Year Zero is much more interesting.

i think its a contract thing

I use Nuendo 3 and it open .aiff files no problem

QUOTE=GuitarGodgt;6021266]Why would he put "needs osx and grageband 3" if they are aiff files?

Anyhow downloading now as I have grageband if I need to use it. Maybe the loops are garageband or something.[/QUOTE]

I was excited when I first heard about these, but they are pretty boring to mix since everything comes pre-polished for you. I guess it's cool to be able to change the levels around, but everything is already processed to hell. I find it a bit hard to get creative when it already sounds finished to me.

All the files are so short that an arrangement is helpful. I someone who has garageband can consolidate/bounce/export the file from bar 1, and upload the *.zip, *.rar to the sneap ftp, then we'll have fun 'till midsummer.

I can do that. Garageband exports only in AAC. It´s possible to convert the files to Aiff ou wav ?

Im sorry but Into The "Bastard" Void (as ive now named it) is a damn classic, everytime I hear it its just like :kickass:. Something I Can Never Have *like Andy Sneaps studio* (also re-named) is a brilliant song.

Anybody got the new DVD?

Absolutely everything on The Fragile is gold and The Downward Spiral gets written off way more than it should just because of its popularity. It flows extremely well

I have the new DVD it more than owns

Trent also allowed songs from "With Teeth" to be remixed as well, really cool to be a huge NIN fan and to be able to basterdize one of his mixes!!!

Im not too fond of the newer stuff, the older stuff is where its at for me personally :)

+1 The DVD is awesome, they put on some of the best visual effect shows ive seen. Some parts just boggle the mind! The people at the actual gig must have tripped out more than me watching it on DVD! haha
