Hello folks! I've been struggling far too long with this song and become quite deaf on it, so probably someone kind enough person here might give me any hints if it sounds finished or just pure dogshit. Track count is horrendous, but mainly the basic drum-rhythm guitars-bass-vocals are my main concern if those sit well or not.

well, it sounds very good IMO, the only flaw I can find is the drums being overpowered by guitars and vocals, but I guess it could just be a choice you made, so...other than that, and maybe drums sound (but that's a matter of personal taste), I'd tell you its some cool power metal you got there! nice job!
Maybe you should just clean your ears by working on something else, or even not working at all for some time, then try listen again to the song to get some "feeling" from it, if you got some "fuck yeah!" after the first 10 seconds then you're done mixing it, otherwise keep working on it

Maybe put a multi band compressor on rhythm guitars at like 150-200hz(I'm not sure), get's pretty boomy when palmuting. Other than that its good, not my genre though.

Thanks for the replies! I think I'll next do some drum and guitar automation to get a bit more depth in there and get all the drum overhead accents right. Atm I'm feeling the snare is coming pretty loud but rest of the kit is a bit behind like DIYistkrieg stated. Guitars could also give some space in a few parts so I'll check on that. I have already C4 there doing 80-200hz compression on guitars, but probably I need to lower the threshold a few dBs. Your comments at least stated the mix is on the right track and now the reality check is done so I might waste my time on the automation :kickass:

try a mid/side eq on the guitars, cutting kick and general drums frequencies from the mid might help

Thanks to you I found out that Pro Q 2 has mid-side EQ, which I haven't used a single time after purchasing it years ago  Never used that mid-side thing, but I've watched many videos about it and almost decided to invested on some waves plugins, like Scheps 73. Of course those analogue modeling plugins have their own sound, but I'll first test if Pro Q does the job.
