Hi everyone...I read a lot on this forum but post rarely. But I wanted to see what some of you thought of this guitar tone. It's a block-letter 5150, clean channel, nothing fancy going on here equipment wise. But I'm actually pretty happy with how this sounds, and I'm curious to see if it's at all pleasant to the ears of others..

And in case you're curious, the band is called Trials, they're at:

Thanks guys.

There actually is a tube screamer in there, and it does help a lot... I think some of the "mud" factor comes from the fact that the guitar is tuned REALLY low (A# standard) and string tension is almost non-existant.

I was thinking of quad-tracking, with 2 tracks of this tone and then 2 with a Mesa Triple Rec that's lying around....good idea?

Yeah, definitely look into thicker strings and lowering the resonance a bit.

If you can set the Recto to be very clear under that tuning (not too heavy on gain, probably lower than the 5150 by a good bit), it should work out quite nicely.

All good points. Thanks guys.

To GuitarGodgt: Does using a baritone have any advantages, tone wise, over using a regular 6 that's tuned really low? I know the intonation is probably way better, but do you find that it's easier to get a good sound with it?
