Any tips for when I get my 7 string?

Schecter Hellraiser C-7. Any tunings I should try?

I have one of those. Just screw around.
I personally love tuning a 7-string down a half-step , seeing that you already have a seventh string, that is more than low enough.

If you need to tune a 7 string down more than one whole step then maybe you should rethink your lifestyle. Anyhow...Schecter's are fun. Fuck around with it. Just remember that it has 7 strings. I've noticed that a lot of people who play 7 strings only use the lower 4 or so.

how bout standard. B is the standard tuning. its heavy and you lose no defintion from down tuning.

I usually use B - and I have a Hellraiser as well, so congrats they are awesome.

I have mine tuned to A E A D G B E and it sounds fine. Even when I tried it out in A D G C F A D it didn't really lose any definition.
Mine is an Ibanez though, never played a Shecter 7 string. Another tuning you could try out if you wanted is A A D D G B E which seems to be a bit less common.
