Anybody seen "Anvil! The Story of Anvil"?

Finally got around to seeing this. Really well done ducumentary. I'll probably pick up the DVD for the extras and stuff.

I really liked it. I haven't heard 13 yet but i think i'll buy it just to help them out:lol:

I'd call them proto-thrash...

I don't really dig the music. I think the songs really suck actually... the drummer is good. I know it's ment to leave you feeling good with the Japanese concert and everything, but that one moment of light didn't make up for all the misery and tragedy that went beforehand for me... just left me feeling bummed out.

Well I think that's the idea of the movie. It's real drama about real people that shows that just because you're on stage and the venue is sold out still life doesn't glitters and turns you into a rockstar.

I think is a movie about human passion and endurance in search for what you dream. Yes it is a sad movie and also a lesson to us all.

If "Flight 666" showed us the power and the glory, this one shows the agony and triumph (even a little one). Both sides of a coin IMO.

I may not like their music but I respect them totally, they have earned anyone's respect :headbang:

Strange most of you guys don't really like Anvil. I think "Metal on Metal" is one of my top 10 metal albums all times....
I haven't seen the movie yet, but they sure are the most down to earth guys around. Saw them several times the past years in small clubs and they allways play like their lives depend of it, and take alot of time for the fans !!

Anyone read the book? It isn't just a paper version of the movie. More the history of the band with all the fuck ups and good moments included then has the story behind some of the scenes in the movie, fights etc.
