I was dying to buy the hypocrisy demon raping a christian shirt from http://shop.nuclearblast.de but when I got to the final payment page, it said something dodgy--they want a photocopy of the credit card faxed to them...

you'd think they'd mention that sooner, unless they're hoping people let it slide cos they've already gone through the whole process...

has anyone used their site? doesn't it defeat the point of an encrypted payment page to do this? they still haven't replied to my email about this concern yet.

Gee, I had totally forgotten this. Did the faxing YEARS ago.

They really do need the copy of your credit card, and it is for your own safety. They check it is actually your credit card you are using. After that, I promise, things should go smoothly until the end of time.
They´re a good firm, so don´t let this thing get in the way.

:hypno: i do not know what do you two talk about .... i also use from time to time the NB site to order tickets or shirts but i have never had faxed my credit card to them?!

I should say that my first order to NB has been ages ago. I don't remember how many years already, but anyhow ...many. Anyway maybe it was different to this times but who cares - the point is you need to fax copy now so if you want to get your stuff....just do that :Saint:

You don't find it strange that they haven't answered my email asking what the point of encryption is if they have full access to my details via the fax?

I'd love to 'just do that' if it didn't seem dangerous and unnecessary.

at least every I-net order contains a percentaged part of risk ...the difference is if more or less. If you want to be sure that there is nothing going to happen with your bank account, you should better use the old know way and go to an "real" shop and buy cash. But think about it - there is also a risk by taking money from a cash machine!

I guess that's your way of saying you missed the point.

I bought some stuff last year & earlier this year, and they never wanted me to send a copy via fax. I live in the states, Seattle to be exact. They were very prompt in shipping and even send me monthly catalog mags. my amounts were for about anywhere from $40.00 to $80.00 US dollars.
I would never send them a copy like that myself...
Good luck

thanks for the reply man. I can't imagine why I would need to if you didn't if it is supposed to be about security (since obviously which country you're in doesn't make a bit of difference there) so I'm going to email them again, find out if they always required it, and see what would happen if i pay but dont fax

ok, time to ammend my thread, since ya never know how long shit on the internet lasts.

I ordered off their site 10 days ago and just received my package today (pretty quick IMO). got exactly what I wanted, no hassles.

cheers to everyone for the replies.

Did you send a photo copy of your card? Or did you use banking transfer?:hypno:

neither. after one of the last replies I emailed them again and this time got a reply, they said I don't need to fax the card (so fuck knows why it says to), so I used the card and they sent it out to me no hassles. :)
