Anyone ever reamp with a Podxt pro?

Hey guys, I'm thinking of picking up a Podxt pro after Lepersmeesa's bitchin' gear porn thread, and I was under the impression that it can function as a reamp box because of it's instrument level outputs. My questions are 1) whether you need to use it as your interface via USB, thus using it's mediocre conversion, and 2) whether the reamping will sound as good as a Cuniberti Reamp or a Redeye (and I'm only talking reamping here, not DI). Anyone have any thoughts?

Thanks dude, but as I mentioned, I'm only talking about reamping, not DI'ing. But I assume that's what you meant, and that the comment about a DI being better was a side-note. Now is it possible to run a balanced cable from my interface into the Pod and then out from the Pod into an amp, and stay analog by not having to ever go through the Pod's conversion? Or do I have to use the Pod as my interface via USB in order to get the clean guitar out?

Yeah sorry I wasn't clear. It has the line level in which you can your signal into. I'm not sure whether or not this bypasses the pods internal processing (which would technically be an AD conversion) - I suppose it could depend on what output you use.

Quick answer: it will work :)

Thanks dude, and after actually looking at a picture of the back of the unit (which I should've just done to begin with, but hey, I'm lazy), there's actually a dedicated section called "Analog Reamping input/output" with a line-level input and an unprocessed guitar output. So as I suspected, it does work, but really my question is whether anyone has used it and knows whether it works as well as a Cuniberti, Redeye, or J48...
