Anyone from the Boston/Mass area ?

I'm from Brookline. Very nice area, basically in Boston. Except less with the Irish and more with the wealthy Jews and good public education and nice houses.
But no one can afford to move here because the property values are ridiculous and taxes are absurd.
But if you want to hang out it's cool.
I think Life Sucks lives here as well.

Was born in Medford just seconds away from Boston. Also lived in Burlington and in Lowell for many years as well. Currently live just over the border in N.H.
Apartments can be ridiculously expensive in Boston...renting just outside the city (but still very close-by) could work ($$) in places like Malden, Somerville, Medford, Cambridge. Cities and towns just south of Boston are not as desirable and can be rougher neighborhoods. If you are going to live inside the city then getting around is easy once you get acquainted. All the sports venues (except Patriots in Foxboro), schools, museums, bars, clubs, restaurants, attractions etc. are all fairly close in proximity and located everywhere of course.

edit:
You mentioned Weymouth? I have a sister in-law from Weymouth...been a few times, not a bad town. Far enough south of Boston more the rougher neighborhoods that I mentioned...but still close to Boston.

I'm like one of the only people in NE who isn't from Mass.

Belfast eh?
I had relatives and actually spent much time up the coast in Rockland ME. Love it up there...esp the town of Camden.
Isn't Belfast north of Rockland and also the hometown of Stephen King?

I think Brewer is the hometown of Stephen King. Also, I like like 20 to 40 minutes from Rockland and Camden. Camden is where all the rich people live. And a lot of tourists go.

Have you ever gone to the annual lobster festival in Rockland?...thats when I usually went up for visits...first weekend in Aug. a good time!

Yep, Camden is kinda crunchy and uppity. I think a few movies were also filmed there, including "Seal" and "Man Without A Face" starring Mel Gibson. J. Travolta lived and docked his boat in the harbor...I remember seeing it.
I really don't care for all that shmoozy shit! I liked going there for some beers and the best chowda from here to the moon at Cappys Chowda House!

Dude, you go to UML home of the Riverhawks... R U originally from Lowell or just there for school? I lived in different parts of Lowell for almost 20-years...and currently work near UML. Now that I live in N.H. I can't say that I miss Lowell too much...though I still hang downtown at times and have many good memories.
