Anyone got drumsamples like the Behemoth - Tha Apostasy?

And it's worth mentioning, that Behemoth recorded their few last albums in best Polish studio in the best sounding rooms, made for radio broadcast of Orchestras for example.

The new one was done at the "new" Radio Gdansk studios, is that right?
They seem pretty nice studios!

Can I get an insight as to why you think that? :)

Well my feeling is, the kick is such a foundational instrument, that you really wanna have it fully consistent with its dynamics - because it's not even something that is played directly by the drummer (but rather through a mechanism, the pedal), the ONLY thing that can vary is volume, and for something as inherently undynamic as metal, I just feel the kick should be as consistent as possible (and while this could be achieved by extreme compression, I don't see the point when sample replacing saves the trouble and avoids the potential for excess noise). Obviously, when we're talking a band like Opeth with unusually high dynamics, that's the exception, but even then, I like the kick to be a consistent foundation, just like the bass guitar.

Yeah dude, watch the studio diaries, those are some seriously nice monitors they have in the background! (not to mention everything else, but the main monitors were what immediately struck me as daaayyuuummmnnn)

Firstly, thanks off for that post re: sampling. You have a good argument for sampling the kick! (great to see it's not "because it's cool" or whatever!)

I've seen the studio diaries, I was just asking that guy (the polish dude ?) about Gdansk studios because I never saw the old one.. wondered if they were any good - or just great facilities to bring engineers into. (if you see what i mean?)

I've never been to those studios, so I can't really answer your question. But the best Polish studios were always radio facilities in different parts of Poland, but there are not many metal/alternative rock bands that have enough money to record there.
As far as I know Behemoth was the first(and maybe only) metal band, which recorded in such place. Demigod was the album with the biggest budget in the whole history of Polish music. :)

I thought Demigod was at Daniel Bergstrand's place (Dug-Out studios, if I'm not mistaken); maybe he just mixed it, or maybe I'm completely off :goggly:

I don't remember where it was mixed/recorded.
But maybe I fucked something up, but one of the last 3 Behemoth albums, which was recorded in Poland - I don't know where it was mixed, was the project with highest budget in the history of Polish music industry.

behemoth recorded apostasy in RG Studio (radio gdansk) - that is the most modern studio in Poland now (but in my opinion Hertz Studio is the best for metal sounds - never been there but ive been talking to musicans and listened to their productions)
The most important thing in Behemoth is that they have their own eingineer (Malta, he is with them since hohohoh...live and in studio) and they recorded every (not sure) album with him.

btw.Inferno has his own signatured snare now.

Yeah, the Spaun deal has been out a while.

I didn't realize Behemoth used the same engineer.. wise, I guess!
I'm heading to Poland sometime late this year, or next year - definitely want to hit up RG.. just for a tour or something.

yeah, I'm also into getting a more accoustic sound on my upcoming mix of the DM band Aeon. I've got some decent samples I made myself earlier but I'm always looking for more and better sounding samples.

I might post the song later on when the band makes it official.

Looking forward to it!
