Just lookin for some more good movies dealing with the rock lifestyle and playin gigs and bangin bitches w/o rubbers...I know of Wayne's World, Airheads, and Spinal Tap...anyone got some more? Comedies are prefered but it doesn't really make a difference. So I guess u could add Almost Famous and Rockstar to that list.

If you move into folk, there's always the movie "A Mighty Wind." Same director as Spinal Tap. It's mockumentary about a folk festival. Not as funny as ST, but it has it's moments.

that movie is very subtle with its funniness. Still like it though.

PCU!!!!!

ok, so its not really musically oriented, but Steve Vai wrote and produced the sound score...

on a serious note you should check out "Prey for Rock & Roll" its a drama about a aging female lead singer in a rock band. It has Gina Gershon and Lori Petty in it..I thought it was quite interesting...

Whoa...I totally forgot to mention the bill and ted movies...I have also seen school of rock...and PCU is pretty sweet...remember in addition to Vai...George Clinton and P-funk play.

Other good cameos are cannibal corpse in ace ventura, derek sherinian and jimmy degrasso in waynes world, Infectious grooves and sacred reich in Encino man

Bangin' bitches without rubbers... didn't notice who this was until I saw that. This guy's cool. He's solid, and he's cool.

(I play in a prog band with this dude. Welcome him to the forum.)

And how the fuck could you forget Bill and Ted, dude?

though i haven't seen it, i've heard "school of rock" is pretty killer.

Since Jack Black was in it, School of Rock was only a little funny. If he wasnt in it, it would've sucked anus.

Did you see the cut sceen when Ace got up and sang with C.C.? It was really cool...

Crossroads is the fucking best! That little punk kid that beats Steve Vai in a guitar solo is so cool even though he obviously doesn't play that and it's actually Steve Vai that recorded his part.

I liked School of Rock for some hilarious classic rock references (AC/DC lyrics in some lines, "You guys don't get the Led out?!", the scene where he rocks out to Immigrant Song).

I saw him get on stage in the movie and not really "sing" with the band but he was pantomiming and being ace. then he said "I gotta go, I got dates with your mothers!"

PS I thought of another Rock "comedy"...that KISS movie...i never saw it ...but i heard about it and I hear its AWFUL
