Ah, that wasn't so much a reference to Soylent Green as it was generic cannibalism horror.

There was in fact an episode where they flashed forward into the future and Homer was eating Soylent Green.

I think someone mentions the fact that it is made from people and Homer doesn't care.

Something like that.

they actually mentioned soylent green a bunch of times. one of which is the episode you mentioned.

I thought it really related to soylent green cause of the amount of references to the movie's plot, like how the detention room was cluttered so they had to move them elsewhere. just how in soylent green the shelters/homes were like that.
