Yes.
If you are gonna sell something make sure its good
(or at the same level of the stuff that is already being sold by another people)
Or even impulses...i´ve heard a lot of stuff that isn't even on the same league of the impulses
released for free by Ryan (catharsis) and Mickrich (he is an awesome dude).
I think the truly awesome things are generally moderate to low cost and very helpful, and there are a lot of them. YouTube tutorials (Mr. Walker running through their entire album), the Systematic Mixing Guide (what did I pay, $10?), catharsis impulses, some of Ola's stuff, etc. I'd rather pay a bit for some great, well-organized and marketed advice/tutorials/starting point presets than pay nothing for absolute junk.
I actually dig your bass tones alot, so buying them wouldn't be that silly.
Plus you're one of the dudes who really have earned their respect in my book, so I'd gladly products/services from you.
Yes, even...
...Pod Farm presets.
Just because you're an awesome guy!
And I gotta agree with The-Zeronaut:

I don't think you're wrong or overreacting or are overly rose-tinted, Owen. I've noticed the same thing over the last 2-3 years and it's endlessly frustrating. I get that people need to eat but what happened to actually recording people as an audio engineer?
But what about the good guys? The guys that sell good stuff at reasonable prices. Guys like the Nashville guy(sorry forgot name), Jordon, Lasse, Chares J, Seraph, Double Impact Drums and The Metal Factory among others I must be forgetting. Those are high quality and unique products IMO at fair prices. Do we really need to lump in those guys with the guys who sell garbage product just cuz they have a reputation in the "scene"?
There's a pretty obvious difference between guys like Lasse who have a link in their sig and post things like "here's a new session I'm working on, also there are new drum samples" and the guys who post "SHORT TIME ONLY 10 DRUMS FOR 5 BUCKS" type sales every other week.
It's more to do with how often some of them market. There are people in the list you have that post or used to post SUPER frequently about their products, and I'm seeing three names in particular on that list where I bought the product after seeing them spam so hard on here/facebook but then ended up hating the samples enough to delete them from my machine entirely.
