I've been wondering the same thing lately. I've been thinking of picking up a Rectifier 2x12 so I can record my Mesa/Peavey at the same time without using the mono inputs on the 4x12.
Wondering if the same results can be achieved with the 2x12 model, or if I'd be better off with yet another 300lb 4x12.

Frankly, I've heard a 1X12 can sound better than a 2X12 or 4X12 for recording. I'd like to try it.

I'm not a fan of small cabs, I think they have more resonances and comb filtering going on and they just sound ...small.
I was actually planning on using it WITH my 4x12....
I'm also considering one of the new rear loaded Diezel 2x12s.

In what configuration? With the 2x12 on the bottom and the 4x12 on top of it? (that's how I've seen a lot of people do it)
