This is the procedure I used. Try this:
RE: [dmpro] PCMCIA burners for the DM Pro?
You don't need a pcmcia burner to get sounds on a card for dmpro. The
dmpro will handle that. You just need soundbridge software
http://www.alesis.com/downloads/software/soundbridge/index.html and a
midi connection to a computer.
It's quite easy to do. I've been playing with it the last few nights.
Any wav file you have can be written to card inserted into the pcmcia
slot of the dmpro. I even recorded some guitar tracks that I can
trigger with the dmpro. You need an SRAM Type-c or d. 256k to 8mb.
I'm actually using one that is 20 meg but the sonudbridge software will
only recognize up to 8 mb. Once you have the software installed and the
midi connections made you can test the midi i/o to make sure you have
your connections right and that your computer is communicating with your
dmpro. You then setup a group within soundbridge and add wav files to
it. Rename the wav's within the group after you've added them to give
the a unique name once they are in the dmpro. Once you have your group
setup in soundbridge you click on send to synth. You're dmpro should
display a message receiving midi data. If it doesn't then it's not
working. I first tried this on a slow laptop and never got this
message. I switched over my desktop and it worked like a charm. When
it's done transferring soundbridge will display a message box that says
your card is ready.
Now you are ready to set it up in the dmpro.
1. Select the drum that you want your new sound to be on.
2. Press edit.
3. Move the cursor down to the second row. (most likely it will be
under "Snd Enable".
4. Roll your value wheel until it displays "Group:"
5. Move your cursor under the current group.
6. Roll your value wheel until your group name is displayed. If you
didn't change your group name it may be displayed as "noname".
7. Move you cursor back one so it's under "Group:"
8. Roll your value wheel until it says "Snd:"
9. Your wav files should be displayed here.
10. Move your cursor over one and use the value wheel to select what
sound you want.
Once you've selected the sound you can use the tune, mix, and fx buttons
just like a normal sound. Be sure you store the drum before moving to a
different drum or you will lose your edits.
I hope this helps.
