I've not recommended anything in a while but here I'm on to something. These dudes hail from my native region of Auvergne, and the idea of soil worship and local legends is very pregannt in their concept - actually Aorlhac is the ancient name of Aurillac, which is the town where they are based.

On this their debut album, they produced a handful of excellent, guitar-driven black metal hymns. The sound is thick and windy, and the guys go at it with the fierceness of their pagan ancestors when they reduced the Roman army to shreds at Gergovia. Yet their melodic instinct is ever burning, almost Maiden-esque in its raw impetus.

For those of you who remember - and enjoyed - the Sühnopfer and maybe Christicide recos, this shit will be right up your highway.

A little too melodic at times, particular the first half of La guillotine est fort expéditive. When they peel this back a bit such as in Le charroi de Nîmes the band really brings about that pagan milieu in which they're striving for. The fact that the length looms around the half hour mark works well in their favor. Keep up the solid reco's Bertrand!

Giving this a listen for the first time, so far I'm diggin' it. Jerry's right, it could use a little more aggression, but for the most part it has a neat folk black feel.

i tried dling winrar archiver but i can't figure out how to use it, now that everybody posts .rars for samples i can't hear any of it damn my lack of comprehension

Open the file with winrar, right click the folder and select "extract without confirmation" (this is easiest), the folder will extract to the same directory you downloaded it to.
