So I downloaded the demo for APtrigga and used it on a track of bassdrums. The original sound sucked, so I wanted to replace it 100%. So I did.

Now, everything seems to work great except that the sample sounds alot worse when used in AP than it does normaly. I suspected that this might have something to do with the EQ settings on APT but I though those might be used to filter out unwanted leakage etc.

Or that it might just be the demo version.

Any ideas?

What seems to be the problem? Can you upload a clip and Screens?

The AP trigger demo releases a short burst of white noise every few seconds. This could be clashing with your snare sound?

Check the crossfade control on the right side...I normally have that on 0. If it's set too high, then it's crossfading into the attack of the samples, which definitely would make them sound worse.

Been using apTrigga for quite a while now and I have to say this is the first time I've ever heard of this kind of "problem." I've never run into this personally.

The crossfade thing did help, but I didn't solve anything. I've fucked with every little thing on it and I don't get it. The sample, which is Andys kick sample, sounds extremely fat and clicky every other time I've used it but when I load it up in ApTrigga all the fatness disappears. You can still hear that it is the same sound, but with complete loss of weight and punch. Same thing applies to other samples I've tried.

I still don't understand exactly what you are talking about, but did you you fuck with the wet/dry mix? Turn the dry all the way down and if it needs more then bump up the wet some.

Imagine that you have an awesome kick sample, that has got everything you want out of a kick. Nice low end, but defined attack, a good bit of thud with some nice clickness to make it stand out.

Now imagine that when you load that awesome sound into ApT, it just sounds like someone is playing a cardboard box. Like all the lows and highs have been cut. And I have messed with every possible setting on it, nothing makes it sound more like the sample actually sounds.

Does the quality of the original recording matter at all?

Oh man, I think I just got it. I'm such a huge idiot.

I had the kick and snare bussed to a group channel with and EQ and reverb that was inteded for the orginal, crappy sound. Turn them off, and it was fine!
 Sorry for wasting your time guys!
