Ok There both good, but I can't decide who's better...I know for a fact that if you've followed AE since the beginning you like mostly Johan's Vocals, but for me, I find Angela alot more intriguing with the Anthematic vocals, but whatever that's my Opinion what do you guys think on the matter?

I like Arch Enemy, they're alright, I'm not a huge fan of them or anything. I don't care for Johan that much, so I've really only paid attention to their last three albums. I think they have a lot of potential but don't utilize it. The Amott brothers can write better songs than what they are doing right now. And Angela is a great vocalist, but her lyrics are well, awful I think. They're just really cliche and lame (ie. The tables have turned / All for one and one for all / We will rise, etc).

I wish they would make an album more like Wages of Sin, and ditch the more radio-friendly mainstream appeal of tunes like "We Will Rise". Unfortunately I read an interview with Angela recently, and she said there were going to be a couple songs like that on the new album :erk:

Angela also said on the new album, she isn't going to record two vocal tracks and layer her vocals for each song and there won't be any effects. She wants a more natural sound.

Not that there is anything wrong with that, it's just it gets sort of like repetitive, like Nemesis reminds me alot of We Will Rise, I don't know, we will see, but I have to tell you Arch Enemy's new album sounds very good, sounds alot like old school AE

See for yourself Even Angela's vocals have pretty much improved

nothing angela has done compares to liiva on black earth. tell me a song where shes better than liiva on bury me an angel? only reason she's more popular is cause she gives boners to all her teeny-bopper virgin fans.

I've never heard any of the Liiva-era material, but I have never really liked Angela Gossow much. She's good at what she does, but her voice is dry and emotionless. The lyrics don't help her much, either.

Overall, I don't like Arch Enemy in general because they employ every single cliche that a modern melodeath band can possibly use.

Liiva was excellent on Stigmata, which is one of AE's classic albums by far, but Angela most definitely can hold her own as well. Although, I cant really stand Liiva when he went with Non-Exsist.

The only Arch Enemy song I ever really liked was "Enemy Within" and Angela's vocals had lots of digital effects on that one.

Boring band.
