I like the re-recorded songs on Hypocrisy's '10 Years...' album.Scratch that, probably not. No band should re-record songs unless it's the same band, they're going in the same direction, and they just wanted better quality.
I personally much prefer "First Strike Still Deadly" though!
So how does that differ from Johans work?
I'm really looking forward to hearing this. To much bitching going on about this IMO.
Woe, where art thou, intro of Disciples of the Watch
The only thing that comes close is Vader's XXV.
Hmm, not too familiar with the original version of that one - but I think it was because I discovered both "First Strike" and a few of the original tunes simultaneously that I very promptly sided with the heaviness (tuning, production, deeper vox) of the newer; might've been different had I been a Testament fan earlier on though!
I don't really like the sound of the mix It's so powerless compared to the rawness of the original... And yep, Angela can't touch Johan's voice.
Not to curb the enthusiasm and all that, but isn't a band re-recording old material basically an admission that they are on their last legs?
