are Nuclear Blast becoming the new Roadrunner?

the bands are good and people like them and you blame the record label for being popular?....the bands make a label popular....the label wants to promote the band so they can actually make money...

if you're gonna make music your living you will obviously wanna make money so you can support yourself....even if you're in a metal band...your focus isn't being underground...sure you don't mind it...but you still wanna make money...

if you're in an awesome metal band and make no money....its fun...but it won't last....

if you're in an awesome metal band and make money out the ass...and help the labels make money well then...you got something going...

if you just suck..well then you just suck...

A true metal band loses money for every album they sell, that way the only time they sell out is when they quit playing.

Indeed.

Killswitch Engage are good, metal or not. But I don't see how they cannot be considered metal when their Roadrunner album is harder than the last two Fear Factory albums, the last two LOA albums, anything Type O Negative has released, and the last few Sepultura albums. Makes me wonder what some of these people consider metal.

Just because it wasn't recorded in their garage with a speaker from a Taco Bell drive in, doesn't mean it's not metal.

oh so metal bands want to quit?...is that what you're saying?...

they obviously quit probably becuz they have no more money and they realize they cant live like that so they decide to do something else...

i say metal bands want to make money...they want to get their points across...or they want to get their stories across...

they want to change the point of view of others...losing money won't help them...so they try to make it...

and there's no such thing as selling out...i mean come on now...how old are you?....a metal band can't sell out unless it's not metal...and if it is metal then they are a breakthrough and are helping metal out to make money....

Dumbass I was being sarcastic. I'm 23, been listening to metal since before you wuz born.

I Haven't heard any RAP-NU-FAGGOT-Supposed-to-be-metal-BAND released from Nuclear Blast ever!

In fact they are releasing brutal acts once again as I can recall Soulreaper, Immortal (if it's not brutal what is?) Kataklysm and they has just signed once again Pungent Stench so.......

Roadrunner really SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nuclear Blast Rules!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Roadrunner really SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ummm....they signed awesome bands....sepultura....carnivore (how can you guys forget about them?)...deicide...and others i can't think of right now...but i'm sure if you read above you can see...

I tried to make it sound ridiculous, but sarcasm is so hard to convey online.

Personally I hate that sell-out shit that people cry whenever a band slightly changes. The best example is Metallica when Load came out. People said they sold out. Sold out for what!?!?! They'd been making bank since the 80s!!! Besides, they were becoming geezers anyhow they had to stop playing so fast!!!

Hmm... this thread confuses me. What does it matter if Nuclear Blast turns into the 'new Roadrunner'? There will always be bands on any one label that people will hate, and bands that just rule, that's life. I think we should spend less time worrying if we're going to 'sell out' into the mainstream community and just enjoy our music.
