...and now you can add Helmet at the Cotton Club to that list, also on Friday the 17th. I wouldn't mind seeing Frankie Bello and John Tempesta, but I'd still rather be at ProgPower!

Wow, it's shaping up to be a helluva night, in a city where the music critics don't have a CLUE about metal (or hard rock) and fall over themselves for the latest hip-hop artist-of-the-week.

Three guesses as to where I'll be that night, and the first two don't count. :D

...and now you can subtract Helmet right back off that list, since Page hamilton appears to have broken himself. they've delayed the tour, according to bravewords.

Tesla will be at the Roxy the night of the pre-show party, too. I guess it figures that, when any decent metal acts actually come to Atlanta, they all show up at the same time. :)

It's definitely always 'feast' or 'famine'

Hello all,

Looks like I'm in good company here in Atlanta. I just moved here a couple of months ago and have been looking for like minded people. Good to see there are a few of us in the area. Anyone planning on going to Dimmu at Masquerade on Wed? Any suggestions on the different clubs to watch for good shows?

I'd appreciate you help.
Thanks,
Kim K

It's a conspiracy, I tell you! A conspiracy!

I don't reallt care about most of the rest, but, damn, I hate to miss Tesla. Tell Matt to scream Little Suzi for me one good time if he's going! :)

Hey, Kim! I usually rely on Mike (Wishmaster) to inform me of anything decent that comes to town, but I'm sure there are other folks here who get to more shows than I do. We're going to see Queensryche in October, anyway.

I wanted to go to that Dimmu show, but I had to help pick up some friends at the airport arriving from the UK for Dragon*Con, and by the time that was done, the show was long over. (It ended up being just two bands, a far cry from the six that had been announced at various times for that show :( ).

Check out http://www.wrekage.org if you're new to Atlanta. Not only does it have info on our weekly 8-hour metal radio show (Friday nights, on WREK 91.1 FM), but links for venues, local bands, concert listings, etc. You can also see our playlists in realtime, listen via the Web in near-CD quality audio, and listen to the show for a whole week afterward. And, of course, make requests. :D
