Hey, have you heard the last Kyuss album, the one called Queens of the Stone Age? It has a song called Spiders and Vinegaroons, and it sounds real similar to the Brant Bjork stuff.

Let me know if you want a CD-R, nukkuh!!??!?

It's mentioned as a split, and it sorta is, but sorta isn't. Here we go w/ the tracklist:

Kyuss:
1. Into the Void (Sabbath cover, which should be better but isn't bad)
2. Fatso Forgetso (you have this on Muchas Gracias)
3. Fatso Forgetso Phase II (aka Flip the Phase, also found on Muchas Gracias)

Gamma Ray (to be later known as Queens of the Stone Age when the German power metal band sued them):
4. If Only Everything
5. Born to Hula
6. Spiders and Vinegaroons

Members of these shortlived Gamma Ray sessions included Josh Homme (duh), Van Conner (Screaming Trees), Vic the Stick (???), John Garcia, and Chris Goss (Masters of Reality, long time Kyuss family colaborator). Born to Hula was recently redone for the Complication EP last year, a better version but not as raw as on this.

The address I have for you is on Cottage St., is that the right one? It'll be on it's way shortly. :headbang:

You know, I don't mean to break in on your stoner-metal orgy, but if you want to hook me up with a CD-R I will please you long time.

Edit: Alternately, Ken can hook me up with mp3's once he gets it... YOU TWO DECIDE LOL

I never really found the split to be all that fantastic, then of course along the same lines, I've never gotten into the brant bjork albums either

Ha, I never knew that. But how could they now know Gamma Ray? That's like Dr Evil calling his device the "death" "star" as part of his "Alan Parsons Project". :tickled:

Also, when you consider the name Gamma Ray for a desert stoner band, it ceases to sound gay. I mean, it suddenly becomes cool in a "Mars Attacks" kinda way. o_O

Looks like I'm just sending a CD-R to Marksveld! :loco:

hahaha I love Mike Myers, and I agree completely about the degaying of the name used in a stoner rock context. Strange. I mean, IIWIWIEISEDS.

There's a relatively new Screaming Trees comp out there. Everyone should have some Mark Lanegan in their collection.
Here I'll use this phrase for the first time ever: quoted for truth. :Spin:
