I was lucky enough to go to the last show in KD's European tour last night, two days before his birthday no less. It all started with a thunderstorm early in the day, so I knew King had arrived in the country
It was a bloody fantastic gig tho; they played most, if not all of, Abigail, and then some of Abigail II behind an iron fence, in a cemetary, with King standing on Abigail's grave, and a woman playing Countess DeLafey. They had hooded monks and everything! Then they went on to play (it was nearly a 2 hour set!) stuff from the entire back-catalogue; a few songs from Them with the grandmother in a chair onstage, a few from Puppet Master with a puppet there(!), a Mercyful Fate song or two, and then stuff from nearly every other album.
Great performances all round, especially from King - if you get the chance to see him on their next tour it is really worth going out of your way to do so! Yeah, not a very exciting story, but it was very cool.
