:( i didnt make it. i had two kids with me (11 months and 2 years old) i figured that it probably wasn't appropriate for babies.

oh damn. i was figuring they'd charge me $$$$$$$ tons of cash for having the three of us go in, and then i'd get the death eye from everyone for bringing them :(

i guess 30 people showed up, the venue is nice, the crowd was respectful, the performance was excellent, there were no technical difficulties, i could hear every instrument at all times (a first!!!)

honestly the kids might not have been as quiet/respectful as the crowd necessitated.

it was an excellent performance and a really intricate, great piece. it started off with (and i'm getting my musical terms all wrong here) a kind of two-way and three-way plucking conversation back-and-forth involving the upright bass, mia's violin, and toby's guitar, and after each phrase of plucking a harmonious bow-motion, also kind of reflecting off of each other. there were a few returns to this theme, with variations, and different stuff, and an exciting/energetic climax, and then a denouement. (i think i'm remembering this right). i brought my camera but the venue was VERY strict about there being no pictures or recording of any type, which is unfortunate. it was about 85% full though. i think i saw j. g. thirlwell there.

Yeah, sorry I couldn't make it up from Texas. You should make a personal recording of it when you get a chance Toby, it would be nice to hear something of this nature from you.

You know that I could never have made it Toby and that I've been excited about the thought of the show and willing to help where I could [Odin owns ye... ;)]. I'm ever glad it went well and that your reflections of it are positive. How did you all play? How did you feel you went Mia? All these question will probably be answered on AIM or Myspace before here, but either way I hope to communicate with you both soon
