ATTN: you business types like JayK, lurch, 'gugs, whoever

i lump beer in with food, i meant more like: long distance calls, a massive spike in my heating bill cause you're used to steamy california, etc :P

Who Moved My CHeese is the dumbest shit ever. prolly took the writer a good 20 minutes to write and then he/she made millions. you could finish it while taking a dump.

the only good work-inspirational book for me was The Greatest Salesman in the World (Parts I and II).

i want to go to california again. with my girlfriend. this summer.

any tips, NAD or anyone else from down there? where to go? how hard is it to get around without a car? what part of the summer's best for vacationing?

The Greatest Salesman in the World (Parts I and II), okay will check out.

oh yeah i just remembered the best part about all this: the biggest markets in SoCal right now are in the desert so i'll have to be heading out there on a regular basis, blasting Kyuss all the while, OH DARN. :kickass:

ohhhhhhhh yeah, heating bill. shit, my gas/heating/stove/whatever bill is like $8 a month, i suppose that would change if i go up north? :loco:

you will need a car outside of San Francisco. stay out of SoCal in August, your nothern blood might boil. :loco:

i gotta go to the damn dentist now, will write later. plan on drinking a beer with me. :kickass:

depends. do you mind the cold? and do you own warm clothes? My parents pay about $80 a month for heating in the winter, but we have an ultra-efficient natural gas furnace (NG = CHEAP), though my parents do like it warm, i'm quite happy to bundle up and live under a blanket where its cozy... i can be $200+ if you have electric or oil.

Stove = electrical, not that bad.

Best part of a cold house.. i can buy cheap stuff for my computer and overclock the fuck out of it.. save $$s (winter = rain rain rain = computer/video games neccesary, summer = outside wins)

I think it makes a good deal of sense to meet with a financial planner. The money you save early on, is the money that compounds most frequently, and it will serve as the core of your retirement fund. Try to find a planner who has a wide portfolio to draw from, so he doesn't force your money into the limited portfilio he has to draw from.

The other thing that you should do, is put 12% into your 401K. It's a total no-brainer.

I only put 6% into my 401K, because that's all that Monster will match, and quite simply, I don't have the extra cash to part with any more out of each paycheck. Wish I could though.

Wait, NAD - are you asking about what to do with your extra income? Or how to grow your business by 25%?

Either way, this is ALL you'll ever need. Trust me:

congrats dude ... if you got that far with that afro mop on your head ... stick with this company.

book: "little red sales book" or something ... good stufff ... light hearted and dead on ... you can read it on the crapper.

I really mostly do project management here, cannot give you advice on sales ... but one thing I can tell you is ... hire good people, better then you ... be good to them and get out of their way ... they will rock for you.
