The split with Nest is finally done. Will listen to some Woodsmoke tonight to get the juices flowing. Here's the press copy:

Two new songs, exclusively available on this 10" picture disc, dedicated to the beauty and mysteries of nature. Agalloch's "The Wolves Of Timberline" is a neo-folk piece, utilizing a contemporary classical structure with acoustic guitars, mandolin, and cello. Nest's "Last Vestige Of Old Joy" fully showcases their trademark style with traditional Finnish instruments and includes vocals and acoustic guitar, courtesy of Haughm and Anderson of Agalloch. A. Tolonen of Nest provided the artwork for both sides. Limited to 1000 copies. Release date is August 3rd!

I am a HUGE fan of Agalloch and enjoy Nest as well but I don't see the sense for just 2 songs.

Yeah, I got that e-mail, e-mailed Andreas about pre-ordering but there isn't going to be any. I'll make sure I order it on the 3rd, but I'm sure it won't go straight away.

But yeah, it looks bloody nice. The world needs more picture discs. I'm guessing they won't be short songs, so it'll be worth it for sure. Plus Nest are pretty good too. Hopefully it'll be better than the last two EP's anyway.

No, they likely won't be short songs. They're very likely to be more than 7 minutes as otherwise they might just as well have made the release a 7".

As much as we all love Agalloch, they're really not that popular...and besides, it's vinyl. It'll take a while before it sells out.

I was thinking of picking up a turntable myself. Have a shitload of records in my atic from the olden days.

There is a great UK CO. called REGA that makes killer audiophile turntables pretty cheap.
