ELITIST RECORDS NEWSLETTER 15/8/02

***********************************************************

***WOLVERINE SIGN TO ELITIST!

Swedish prog metallers Wolverine have signed a four-album deal,
and will start recording their debut for Elitist at the end of 2002.

The band have so far released two albums, "Fervent Dream" and
"The Window Purpose", the latter winning the honour as
Aardschok's "Album Of The Month".

Wolverine is an exceptional young band with a huge talent, both
idealistically and musically. Their more traditional sounding
progressive metal is tempered by the influences from their death
metal roots, a fine example is the track "Towards Loss" which can
be downloaded from here:
http://www.wolverine-overdose.com/towards_loss.mp3 (taken
from the album "The Window Purpose" on DVS records.
www.dvsrecords.com).

We're delighted to have Wolverine on board. They fit the Elitist
ethic in every way possible. They're a forward thinking band with
all the qualities it takes to success in the world of metal. We'll be
giving you updates on their progress as they happen.

***LUNARIS SET FOR RELEASE

The debut album "...The Infinte" from Lunaris, the Norwegian
gods of progressive black / death metal, is due out on the 16th
September. The band has also re-vamped their website and it can
be found here: http://www.lunarisweb.com

***FOREST STREAM FINISH ALBUM

The Russian based trio have now finished their debut album
"Tears Of Mortal Solitude". It will contain 11 tracks of some of the
most sorrowful and crestfallen black metal ever put to tape. Forest
Stream specialises in the epic and emotional, and there really is no
one else quite like 'em.

We'll be scheduling the release date as soon as the artwork
arrives.

The Forest Stream website is presently at: http://www.mmz.ru/fs/

***RAKOTH CLOSE TO COMPLETION

"Tiny Deaths", Rakoth's third album, will soon be finished. The
band is presently recording yet more material for inclusion on the
album. The present track list is:

1. Into
2. The Crypt / Planekeep
3. Fevered
4. Dawn
5. Trust This
6. Edge
7. June 3
8. Horizon
9. Just Another Lament
10. Vicious Life
11. Tiny Deaths

But this, as is usual for Rakoth, is likely to change several times
before the actual release :)

The band has taken a more atmospheric approach with this new
album, displaying an almost Avant-experimental edge to the
songs. Needless to say, it still sounds like Rakoth through and
through, though some of the fans of their traditional style may be
left scratching their heads!

The digipac version of Planeshift is selling out fast. If you're quick
you can get one for $11.00 post paid anywhere in the world. The
address for the web store is below.

***EPHEL DUATH FINISH DEMOS

Italy's Ephel Duath have now completed some live in the studio
demos with their brand new line-up in preparation for the actual
recording of the forthcoming "Painter's Palette" album.

Having heard the CD I can safely say, hand on heart, that I've
never heard anything like this before in my life! The drums and
bass now play schizophrenic jazz beats, seemingly at random, and
the guitars and minimal keys collide over the top in a way that is
virtually impossible to describe. The best I can do is maybe
Naked City meets Emperor on a very dark night.. This upcoming
album is going to destroy any competition that the band may
previously have had. Black metal is about to be taken yet another
step beyond... http://www.ephelduath.net

Odd odd odd... Well gentlemen I so curious to listen to Forest Stream's tracks number 10 and number 11:))) And it is so strange to see that Rakoth has also 11 tracks? Isn't that a nice coincidence?[:^)] Personally, I am aware of 9 tracks!!
