I know Opeth have toured Australia for the last few years with sold out shows every time, but please.... someone tell me they are coming again? Due to unforseen circumstances I could not make it to either gig and it was so very disappointing, and I am really hoping, probably along with sooo many others that they will be back, soon.

Well, I hope Opeth tours again! I am sure that they will tour some time next year. It'll be 2 years since they last came here by then.

I suppose the earliest we can hope for is some time next year, after they've done their 5th consecutive US tour. I don't see why they wouldn't come though - there is a fairly substantial fanbase here.

I agree. The NZers have been getting neglected for many years now. A lot of the dudes on this forum seem to be willing to make the trip to Melbourne for when they play here though.

Yeah, I'd be willing to make the trip, altho it would be extremely difficult for someone like myself to afford to pay for the trip over.

Well it would be nice if they did it before march (but i dont see that happening). Because cheep flights out of Dunedin are going to stop, which would mean I would ahve to drive to ChCh again.
Make the trip if ya can, I did it last time and it was the best concert Ive ever seen. Everyone was real friendly and happy, plus its warmer than NZ. Ive got enough for a plane ticket (just waiting for the dates) so depending on work looks like Ill make it back over next time they tour.
I would like to meet moonie this time (and anyone else from the board who wants to meet me). I would be nice to see some other kiwi's there too.

On a sort of related note, we have the largest amount of tool fans here in the world per head of population and I reckon tool fans are the sort of people (generally) who would also enjoy Opeth so it makes sense to come here exposure-wise as well.......

Or tool fans would be fuck heads. When Tool toured with Meshuggah, they got booed alot.

No doubt they'll tour Australia, its inevitable, I just hope they decide to wing over to New Zealand for a few shows, added incentive being they've never played here, that would make my year.

Hey everyone, im a new listener to Opeth, only been aware of the magic for 6 months or so and im wondering whether anyone knows of any opeth tours of australia anytime soon? also, do opeth usually perform underage shows? if they dont, fake ID it is then
