I just stumbled upon this on MySpace:

http://cosmicfingerprints.com/iidb.htm

I'm halfway through the atheists' forum posts ( http://www.freeratio.org/vbb/showthread.php?t=135497&page=1 ) and this is one hell of a debate going on, truly mindblowing, some statements are really heavy and refreshing to read.

If you have some time, go for it. No BS there.

Information Theory and DNA deal a crushing blow to Atheism, because the laws of physics and chemistry do not account for the existence of information.

You are invited to study, in detail, one of the longest-running debates in the history of the Infidels discussion board.

Verify for yourself: To the extent that science can demonstrate anything, the information in DNA is evidence of design in living things.

I read a lot of it. Not all but that was my observation. If there is a God he/her/it obviously doesn't want to be known in a literal sense.

Edit: It's not the first time I've heard of this.

WHAT WOULD THIN LIZZY DO?

Not really. How about reading it first before reducing it to one sentence ;)

But he's exactly right. Did you notice that on the guy's website he says: "If you can read this, I can prove that God exists."

But as he responds to other's posts he admits that what he gives is far from a proof, yet he still tries to dress it up like one.
There's a great deal more to the forum discussion - but the guy's agenda can be pretty much summed up by SocialNumb's synopsis.

I've read through a great deal of that thread and in my opinion the guy has had his ass handed to him dozens of times but he keeps disregarding it and insisting that his ideas are still rock solid.

If you can provide an empirical example of a code or language that occurs naturally, you've toppled my proof. All you need is one.

That's easy. D.N.A.

1) DNA is not merely a molecule with a pattern; it is a code, a language, and an information storage mechanism.
2) All codes are created by a conscious mind; there is no natural process known to science that creates coded information.
3) Therefore DNA was designed by a mind.

This is a ridiculous theory..

We have not seen any aliens (unless governments are hiding it from us, which is a whole different argument), therefore aliens don't exist and we are the most intelligent race in the universe.
Wat?

Yes, I'm not saying that I support his personal views. However, for me, it rises the trivial question of "What is coincidence?"
DNA is ultra-complex and far from being completely analyzed. Yet.

But nobody believes that DNA just appeared on the scene in its current form, all ready to go. Billions of tiny coincidences, too insignificant to be considered on their own, create the illusion of a (cumulative) coincidence that baffles the mind in its complexity.

I imagine DNA's origins are as humble as our own.
