Autotune Bass

Autotune Bass as in the mode in Autotune?? It happens that i use autotune on bass, if i feel the bass is slightly out of tune.

i hate bass guitars. they always sound out to me. so i usually whack on some autotune then bam, it's in tune

i mainly mean what settings do you use etc, how do you set it up and so forth because unfortunately i've been given a bass track thats so slightly out of tune its painful and no way of correcting it :/

I use melodyne for this. Havent had much luck with bass and AT.

do you guys just use the correct pitch function on the whole track or just tune the notes that are audibly off? i haven't had much success so far. even little adjustments make my bass DI track sound audibly tuned and unnatural. this is when i tune it 100%. haven't played with the pitch drift function however.

Tune with melodyne, correct pitch on pretty much the entire thing, then edit for timing.

Melodyne for me. Autotune tends to be hit or miss with bass guitars

In the daw. There's something wierd about the melodyne one. I never figured out a way to make it work faster then just manually editing.

+1, not to mention you need to reference the drum tracks when editing bass, anyway.

Yeah! I would like how to do faster editing on volume evening - autotune doesn't do that?
How much I tried AT sound artificial compare to Melodyne.

Melodyne all the way! You can even change the amplitude on different notes, helps to bring out the bass fills.
