Avenged Sevenfold... the gayest band in metal?

I tried to sit through a whole song... could barely manage it. Aside from the completely stolen In Flames riffs meets wanky-as-fuck emo bullshit, how the bloody-hell can anyone actually like this band?

when you say "gayest band in metal" i think to myself..

their not even metal...definalty not metal. they have good riffs, but i personally dont like there music at all

it seems as though they were like "lets start a metal band" so they got some riffs and shit goin, then they're like "we need a singer!" and one of the dudes was like "ive got a friend whos a total emofag but he sings!" and they said "call him up!"

i think the same thing happened with atreyu

Avenged Sevenfold's musicianship is actually excellent. Their vocals on "City of Evil" are horrible due to the lead singer's vocal surgery due to singer nodes or what ever. Now he sounds like he has his nose plugged up and they're trying to relate more to a little girl crowd. The truth is that "City of Evil"'s music is heavier than their previous album "Waking the Fallen". I liked Avenged Sevenfold a few years ago untill I listened to the mp3s on their site for "City of Evil". I was going to buy it but I really could not bare the vocals. They are so terrible that they make me cringe. I really like the vocals on "Waking the Fallen" though. I had to endure some of the clean vocal parts but over all the vocalist had some talent. He should have quit after his surgery though. If you listen to the music, it really has a lot of metal elements but overall it is a hybrid band. They have harmonies and solos and heavy break downs so I can't see how you guys say they don't have metal incorporated. Like I said, "City of Evil" is really heavy but the vocals totally kill the album in my eyes and I can not listen to it. Anyways, it's bands like that who make the bands I like even better.

...avengedsafnsv 7ghfd suxx damn sorry couldnt say that name :p

they r PUNK!!!!!(they stand next 2 good charlottfdasfds and stuff) not even close to anything called metal.

but what do you guys think of Unearth or As I Lay Dying iv a couple of songs from both band and they pretty rock...(goes in the corner and shames) :p no but really i love blasting basses :p

thats why im putting up the Aborted album Right now

It's not just the vocals that bother me, it's all the songs that actually sound to me like pop punk sped up with solos.

I give them props for skill and talent, but their songs just don't do it for me. Different strokes for different folks, I guess.

Oh and nothing beats Rhapsody, when it comes to the Cheese factor. Rhapsody is the true legend of Cheese.

I dunno, rhapsody involves dwarves... manowar involves half naked men with only small leather tabards covering their genitals.
