Avril Lavigne

El Spawno isn't the only Avril fan around here, y'know. I tried not to listen to her, I really did, but her songs are like commercial jingles that get stuck in your head whether you want them to or not. Then she had to go and release four singles in a row that I liked. That hasn't happened to me since Jagged Little Pill, so I must have a certain fondness for Canadian female singers who bitch a lot .

Thats right! You cant avoid them and find yourself singing along in your head whether you like it or not! Its insidious! Except I only like the first 2 songs, I didnt like any of the other ones ive heard (the ballad and that new one) :D

Alanis WAS a talent, lads. Jagged Little Pill is still a good record that's stood the test of time despite massive overexposure. Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie was awful (so much so that I took it back and exchanged it for something else) and Under Rug Swept was worth perhaps two listens before I returned it to Duellist.. These days I'd rather spend my money on Tori Amos, The Donnas and Sinergy.

I won't be falling over myself to buy Avril's stuff, but neither will I switch it off when I hear it on the radio. She's got a lot of growing up to do before the world starts taking her seriously, but she's still damn catchy :).

She cowrites her own songs, which if im not mistaken is the exact same thing Alannis did?
