Awesome ambient music - Mark Morgan

I know Mark Morgan for the music he composed for the Zork Nemesis game. Man, I loved that game and the music he created was perfect for the atmosphere on it.

Check this out

I love this sort of shit. And I fucking love the Fallout 1 and 2 soundtracks!! Ermz.. we were made to be gay lovers floating in an ocean of jizz.

Keep bumping this so I'll remember to check these once the festivities are over! ;)

Consider it bumped!

@drew: Y'know what, fuck it. You're free to use whatever metaphor you want, because this makes us so underground and cool we can never be called gay.

Glad the rest of you guys are digging it. Not many really enjoy this style of music.

For something more recent make sure to check out the Borderlands OST. Tracks on there by Jesper Kyd amongst some others. Also the Torchlight soundtrack by Matt Uelman. Awesome ambient/cinematic 12 string guitar work.

Hm, will have to do some research and come back to this thread lol.

Seriously though, is there anything like this that you guys know of which is slightly more rock inspired? Not like rock spliced with ambience, but ambience with hints of traditional rock instruments (drums, or bass, anything rhythmic)?

I'm happy to see an ambient thread here. Aside from metal, it's my other big genre. Not just video games though, but actual standalone ambient albums too. Some of my favorites are Steve Roach, Solar Fields, Biosphere, Sleep Research Facility... Etc. Always open to recommendations.

Kammarheit - The Starwheel
Kammarheit - Asleep and Well Hidden
Raison D'etre - The Empty Hollow Unfolds

@tornojaws: I kind of feel you there. I think Torment's soundtrack was meant to be more cinematic, so it has an overtly more musical feel, whereas Fallout's soundtrack is pure fucking death. My heart wrenched when I heard the filler orchestral abortion that piece of shit other guy wrote for that that failure sequel Fallout 3.

Mark Morgan actually did the new Need for Speed - Shift game soundtrack. I can't remember that one too well but it seems really weird to use his work on such a mainstream title. Will have to check it again.
