Alcohol without liquid (AWOL) is a process introduced first in Asia and Europe that allows people to take in liquor without actually consuming liquid. The machine vaporizes alcohol and mixes it with oxygen, allowing the consumer to breathe in the mixture. The machine has been dubbed AWOL, a play on the military term AWOL, Absent Without Leave. The AWOL machine produces a very fine alcoholic mist. The continual intake of this mist over a 20 minute period is the equivalent of taking one shot of hard liquor. The machine is set to debut in America in August of 2004. It is already facing opposition from interest groups fighting against underage drinking and drunk driving.

The machine is currently being sold for $299. The marketers say it produces a "Euphoric High" and the effects of alcohol consumption without the high calories, carbohydrates, and hangovers associated with common consumption. Hangovers are prevented due to the fact that the alcohol is delivered with oxygen to the brain. Vaporized alcohol also enters the bloodstream faster and its effects are more immediate than its liquid counterparts. Marketers encourage patrons to use the machine no more than twice in a 24 hour period to avoid overconsumption, as this may be dangerous.

I KNEW IT!!! I've been saying this for ages every time I see a car with mud all over it, oh hey I bet they took it to the carwash and ran it under the mud hose for a while. I'm awesome.

Also the fake bullet hole decals are pretty lame.

Well not everyone, when I used to offroad all the time my mud was real. Although Northern California is home to very serious offroaders, and Southern California is mostly poseurs who wash their lifted 2WD F-150s every other day. Thankfully the trend seems to be dying out a bit, I think most idiots that tossed 44" tires on their street queens now have trucks that rattled apart into oblivion (that's basically what happens on huge tires that you can't balance).

i dont understand this AWOL thing. alcohol must be metabolized before it gets into the bloodstream. is this shit just pure alcohol or something? you cant inhale vodka in other words. though it's true that drugs enter the bloodstream faster through the lungs, that doesnt mean it's a good thing. absolutely pure alcohol will kill you. this machine is a phony. the "euphoria" is almost certainly just the effects of oxygen.
