I got to borrow an Axe Fx 2 again from Fractal(since I sold my own in february) to do some tone matching tests. Started today with matching some of my old amp videos.

Bare in mind, I'm not using the same pickups or guitars as used in the original videos so it will NEVER be the same sound. But anyways, kinda cool feature...

For you with a Axe Fx 2, the patches are available to download if you check the description of the video.

That is all... Thank you... have a great weekend... and don't drink too much... or watch to much porn.... go out and take a walk in the sun... or something...

it sounds damn nice and it's also damn close IMHO!

what do you think about the AXE II with FW 6 in general?

Holy crap! I'm listening on crap headphones at work, but those tones sound very close. Ola, I'm very interested in your opinions of the Axe 2 FW6 after you've used it for a while. Great work!

Can you explain your chain for the AXE? Direct in, or miced with a poweramp... ect... Thanks.

Great tones! Keep in mind you could profile the tone matched patches with your Kemper before you send the Axe back.

Sweet I hope borrow means keep .... up till now Fractal dont seem to have bought into the idea of decent promo/pr , they should let you have this unit then give out a few more to guitarists of different genres who can make quality videos . Anyway sounds great are you going to try an Amp match (kemper style) looks a bit more hassle with the Axe .

The cobra one was the amp the sounded the closest to the original. the mark iv tone match doesn't have nearly the same feel or high end. the einstien sound's pretty close to just the low end is a lot different. which could be because of the guitar and pickup's. but not to bad :)

^^^ Agreed. The framus sounds nearly identical but the other two are definitely discernible. Impressive nonetheless! Starting to think about trading/ selling the Mark V and looking for one of these....

Well... I haven't even heard the samples with decent headphones yet and I put my name on the waiting list for an Axe II because of this vid. After listening closer, the underlying tone does sound different. The Mark IV doesn't have as much bite... ect as the original. But this could be from many different factors as Ola previously stated... Ola, would you say that your previous Ibanez had more bite than your current guitars? Also if the Axe was recorded direct compared to the real amps being miced may also play a role in the difference. Ola will have to give us the skinny, but that Framus example could sell Axe's on its own it's that good.

Ola, if you oneday get chance to tone match your amps (before the cabs) you'll be a god! The guy who profiled the Mark V did a good job on the forum, but I sense there could be better to come if you had a go...

Man, the Framus clip is spot on, and the rest are so close that the difference is pretty much negligible, no one's going to tell the difference between it being a "digital" tone in this case. I'll have to try them out on mine, see how they sounds for me!

I've got a ton of stuff I've recorded before to tone match that I keep forgetting about. I'll have to give it a try, would be sweet to have some of those tones :D

The Framus was clearly nailed but there was something different in the other amps. Somehow the tone was more direct with the Axe-Fx. Anyways the tone was in no way inferior or superior to the real amps.
