Right, so I've been living off-campus for this semester, and as a result am removed from the crutch of dining halls. Thus, I've consumed a record amount of turkey sandwiches (Inspirations Garlic + Herb Turkey from Hannaford's OH YEAH) and microwaved eggs, but I'd certainly like some variety. A key criterion is that it require any more effort than the above two, and we actually already have a George Foreman grill, so I should probably deflower that. Any other suggestions are welcome!

Sorry dude but face palm at this thread, if you can figure out comb filtering and other nerdy audio stuff you can surely figure out how to cook for yourself?

That said go to shop buy garlic, smoked salmon, feta cheese, olive oil, pasta and cream.

Heat up your frying pan with some olive oil in it cut up some garlic chuck it in the frying pan. Next throw in some choped up smoked salmon you dont want to cook it to much just til it changes colour it will cook realy quickly if its finely choped. Now throw in your cream and choped up feta cheese and let it all simmer for about 5 mins making sure to keep stirring. While all this was going on your pasta will be cooking away to taste so now just bang the two of them together sit down watch futurama/south park/simpsons and go nom nom nom

The whole thing should take 10-15min to cook so its pretty quick. Another tip is have Italian Spanish and French people for housemates and you will learn so much about food and cooking its wrong.

Microwaved eggs? Uggggh. Cooking REALLY isn't that hard or time consuming. I do most of the cooking around home. If you decided to "deflower" your Foreman grill, I'll give you my grilled chicken recipe, especially for an indoor grill (my friend's whole family knows my name because of this dish :) ). Once you learn 2 or 3 key techniques about cooking with the Foreman grill, you can make really good stuff...easily. But without those techniques, you'll end up with flavorless rubber.

And if you insist on cooking with the microwave, and like chicken curry...I've got an easy 20 minute chicken curry (no joke...roughly 20 minutes total time...prep and cook) that has met with the approval of my Indian friends.

Actofvengence...that sounds yummy! Have to try that myself. Marcus, seriously...learn to cook. It's really not hard to make meals that seem fancy, but are really easy...and will impress a girl to cook something really nice. :) Hit me up for some of my easier/quicker dishes.

That shit sounds good... except the SouthPark part... gotta try it tomorrow...

Sloppy Eggs. You take all the flavorings your (my) mother would add to ground beef to make sloppy joes (catsup, mustard, brown sugar, worcestershire sauce) and instead you add them to eggs during the scrambling process. I think it tastes great, but it's pretty universally agreed that it looks and smells like refried ass.

Well give me some credit dude; the issue here is not being able to "figure it out," I'm not retarded - but all that preparation (and in turn cleanup) is still more effort than I wanna exert to cook for myself most of the time, I just like to eat IMMEDIATELY cuz I often get unspeakably ravenous (I think I might be hypoglycemic, I eat ALL the time and my mood is a slave to my blood sugar - I should probably find out one way or another from a Dr.). Besides that, my Mom already gave me tons of recipes that dare I say are a bit better than "creamy salmon stir fry," so if I wanted to make an effort, I'd eat those ;)

Mark, I'll definitely be in touch :)

pasta is pretty cheap. Buy some chicken in bulk. I need to find less expensive fish as I love fish, its healthy, but usually the good stuff (like salmon mmmmmmmm) is usually pricey.

halibut! mmmm.

but a big +1 to pasta and sauce(s) of choice. i live on the stuff almost exclusively. "barilla pasta" is my choice.

1 box barilla pasta
1 1" cube of butter
extra parmasean (sp?) cheese
salt to taste

in its most bare form.

add sauces, meats, spices, etc.. for more food/flavor.

1 box is too much for me, so i usually just boil half a box. ten mins to boil the water, 10 to tenderize pasta. so you're eating pretty quick.

The problem with pasta is how many carbs there are, but then again, I could just include chicken at like a 1.5:1 ratio (and use whole wheat pasta, naturally). But see, here I just find myself thinking out the process in my head, and realize I'd rather just grill the chicken and throw it between two pieces of whole wheat toast with some Grey Poupon and a glass of V8 - DONE. However, I definitely wanna start having people over for dinner, so they'd probably prefer food they can eat with utensils

bread pretty much is another form of pasta anyway, so i think chicken sandwich is just as good :)

"have to eat now stuff":
- non water mixer soups (progresso) take like 4 mins til the the foods in your mouth
- cereal (ha)
- those frozen lasagna's from stouffers are pretty tasty, between 4 and 20 mins to cook based on size and what it is
- chopped fresgh veggies w/ ranch or peanut butter
- "steamer" frozen veggie packs turn out GREAT tasting peas and corn

Hey its just something quick easy and full of protein like you asked. I dont think 15 min prep and cook time + throw stuff in a dishwasher afterwards or heaven forbid wash it up in a sink is to much effert. Eating right is something that is very important marcus try not to think of it as a pain in the ass because you have to cook and clean up. I realy enjoy cooking a decent meal when im at home.

And believe me it is a always nice to be able to cook for the ladies they love that shit pow

Anyways what im saying is cook that shit up man or at least try it for one week where you cook a proper meal using your moms receipe or whatever every day and see how you get on.

nothing wrong with carbs.

Anyhow, I usually have a pan seared steak once in a while. I had one last night after a long day and it was one of the best things i have ever had. I downed two beers in the process as well. Epic dinner imo.
