I saw Alice and his band last week in Belgium at the Schwung Festival and they were better than ever! Killer setlist including a 70's part (including an awesome rendition of "Steven"), perfect line-up (with Eric Singer on fire behind the kit!), crystal clear sound and obviously a theatrical performance full of surprises, otherwise it wouldn't be a Cooper show
The guillotine is back...
My best gig of the year so far! (tied with Deep Purple)
DIO was also on the billing and The Voice of Metal ruled as usual, having renewed the setlist with "I" from Dehumanizer, "All the Fools Sailed Away" from Dream Evil and other unusual cuts from the first 2 records ("I Speed at Night", "Gypsy", "One Night in the City", etc.). Craig Goldy was spot on (even though less flashy than Aldrich) and Rudy Sarzo brings energy to the new line-up.
When they start off with "Children of the Sea", you know it's going to be a memorable gig...
I enjoyed STATUS QUO as well, the atmosphere was stunning in the crowd but I must admit I didn't stay 'til the end of the gig. I think the samey rythm in almost every song bores me a little bit in the end... Class band anyway, they deserve so much respect for still being entertainers at their age.
TED NUGENT played earlier in the afternoon, a good and intense performance as well. Even though his speechs during and between songs were beyond ridiculous...
Nothing special as far as the setlist goes (maybe "Dog Eat Dog"?), the Nuge rocked the house and played freaking loud! The bass player also sang on a tune if I remember correctly.
I missed the previous bands but hey, that was drinking time
