Backing up OSX

I have an SSD with 120GB, where I put OSX, my programms, samples and projects I'm temporarily using.
Once a project is done, it goes to my slower 350GB drive.

After updating to 10.9.2 (hackintosh), getting stuck in a boot loop and a minor mental breakdown I decided it's time for backups again:

I want to get a 1TB external drive, and set up
two partitions. One, to backup the SSD bootable with Carbon Copy Cloner, and another to back up both drives with time machine.

Is it possible to do that?
