OK so i just got this ART 351 31 band eq for my guitar rack, i got it going thru the fx loop on my ENGL e530. The problem is im losing alot of loudness with the eq in the loop compare to the engl alone and im not really sure why this is.
This eq I just got has balanced trs and xlr ins and outs, im currently using regular unbalanced 1/4 guitar cables because the ENGL only has x1 fx send out (mono) and 1xleft,1xright (mono) loop return ins..
I read somewhere that if you use unbalanced cables with balanced ins you lose like 6 or 12db? Anyone know this to be true?
I wanna know why im losing loudness and i also i would like to run stereo to my cab since i have a peavey 50/50 poweramp but i dont know how its possible when my engl is giving me mono ins and outs and the eq is balanced etc...
